Rockwell Experience
Yesterday, we took a trip to Rockwell Collins to see their virtual reality lab. With a very expensive helmet-type thing, we were able to manipulate a piece of equipment and virtually take it apart and put it back together. The technology used for it was similar to what is used on Nintendo Wii, which is fun. Although we weren't playing games with the device, it was still cool to virtually be able to play with the equipment. The experience shows you how far technology has come and opened my eyes to different career opportunities that are being created because of the advanced technology we have available to us. Although it's not something I'm SUPER interested in, it was a fun experience and cool to be able to have the chance to see their career and see a small part of what they do with their day.

My Brand
There wasn't a whole lot out there on the web about me at the beginning of this term, but after making a variety of different accounts I feel like there's more out there that can be found about me. I come up in the search now since I've created a google+ account. I feel like my brand is a positive one, because I haven't put anything out there that I don't want people to know about me. I don't like to have a whole lot of information about me out on the web, because I think it's creepy, and if you really want to know things about me, you should just personally get to know me.

Three Learning Techniques
One thing found on the internet that can be used as a learning technique is a podcast called "Stuff You Should Know." It gives information on random subjects summarized into 60 seconds. There are a variety of subjects, mostly just common curiosities.
Another useful learning technique is the online audio books found on openculture.com. It gives you a chance to expand your reading knowledge by just listening online to people reading to you instead of having to take the time and energy to sit down and read the book. Plus, you don't have to go to the library or bookstore to get it either!
A third useful online learning technique is khanacademy.org. It helps you to learn about a variety of subjects, starting at the basic levels. It also gives you a chance to have hands on experience with practice exercises on the website.

5 Most Useful Things
- Diigo - Diigo will be helpful when I want to share things with just certain people. It would be cool to use like if you were planning a wedding and you wanted to post stuff for your bridesmaids or if you wanted to share a website with your friends, you could just bookmark it.
- Screen Capture - screen capture is very useful, I have heard of people using it on their phones and I think it's really cool, so although I should have known there was a tool for it on the computer, but it's nice to know how to use it.
- Google Sites - Making a website might be useful in the future, so it's nice to know how to do it now.
- Ifttt - Ifttt is useful in just about any aspect, so that you can just get a text message sent to your phone whenever anything happens on the internet, it's cool that you can link your accounts so easily.
- Other Apps - We have all learned about other apps, too. Most of us knew how to use these apps such as youtube, twitter, and pinterest, but I don't think anyone knew how much there actually is to these apps. I personally didn't know all the different tools involved with youtube, and I didn't know all the different parts of twitter, either.
